Detangling natural hair can be a pain, but it's necessary to keep hair from matting and knotting up.  Also, detangled hair allows you to have manageable and defined curls and waves.  There are many products on the market sold to detangle hair, but why spend the cash if you can do it yourself?  Below are some simple ingredients to make your own detangler.

Materials:
  • 16 oz spray bottle
  • 12 oz of distilled water (helps remove minerals such as calcium from hard water, allowing softer hair)
  • 3 teaspoons of moisturizing hair conditioner
  • 5 drops of peppermint oil (promotes hair growth)
  • 5 drops of jojoba oil (prevent dandruff, adds shine to hair, and moisturizes scalp)
Directions:
  1. Fill spray bottle with the distilled water
  2. Add the moisturizing conditioner
  3. Add the peppermint and jojoba oil
  4. Shake the spray bottle really well to mix the ingredients
  5. Divide hair into sections
  6. Spray on hair and comb through with a large comb starting from the ends of the hair to the root
  7. Store in a cool place
Note: Make sure to shake the bottle before every use to mix the separated ingredients.
